NRA Response To SandyHook Hits The Liberals Right Between The Eyes

Facing the truth upfront rather than turning from it will help to keep our lives moving in a forward and positive direction. Most of us have had the experience of being in possession of a piece of truth that we were afraid to share because we knew it would not be well received. There are also instances in which we ourselves have been unable to handle some truth confronting us. For the most part, we avoid the truth because it scares us, or makes us angry, or makes us feel like we don’t know what to do. It takes a strong person to face the truth in circumstances like these. Nevertheless, we can only avoid the truth for so long before it begins to make itself known in ever more forceful ways.

Let me tell you this first off, my condolences to all the families that have been devastated by this senseless shooting in Connecticut. That being said, there are many people, who in a very predictable fashion, are trying to use this tragedy to further their political agenda of restricting our 2nd Amendment rights. We all knew that with the re-election of Barack Obama, there would be the risk of a president unrestrained by the prospect of another campaign, who would reveal his true intentions of limiting freedom. We now see the president working with Sen. Feinstein, to revive her long-discredited and discarded Assault Weapons Ban, in an attempt to harness the emotions of the moment for political gain.

This is one of the most horrific events I have seen in my life carried out by a maniac who had mental retardation and was taught how to shoot high powered weapons by his beloved mother with about $2500.00 worth of her small arms cache. This tragedy defies reasoning, yet it happened. Not ONE frenzied mainstream media outlet has talked about the serious role the mother played in this disaster, why? She is a poor helpless single mother and a victim I suspect. There is much blame that should be left at her feet for the way she conducted her relationship with her son which she new was getting worse according neighbors and friends. Well she’s dead so forget about it?

This was tragic and horrific beyond imagination; almost impossible to wrap your mind around; unlike most liberal hand wringing goof balls, I did, and had to find a rational perspective and adapt to it. Unlike the great elected gods around Washington, I would have asked them to stand down, keep their wit and mouth shut and let the families bury their dead and then have this rational conversation AFTER. I suppose that some might say that I am doing the almost same thing that the Anti gun nuts are doing but I am not. I can not sit around and listened to Feinstein, Lieberman (starts off with lie), Obama, Biden, loud mouth moron Mayor Bloomberg and other supposed leaders and intellectuals spout wholesale crap without a come back comment.

The Second Amendment is so dear to most Americans. The mindless media would have you believe that the majority of Americans would want all guns confiscated. The media is full of regurgitation of old arguments, putting on a good show including the “best of”  grieving pictures , graphics and sound tracks. A constant ridiculous ratings and agenda driven drum beat; that is surely to cause another similar mass homicide, also known as the copy cat syndrome. They don’t care about that, they have been warned to tone it down.

As we speak, forensic Psychiatrists are, have been dissuading the media regarding that repetitive, non stop broadcasting of  horrifying personal images and suggestions of the crime. Matt Lauer of the Today Show on Monday seemed startled by a Psychiatrist that they hired, said their coverage was making it more possible for more violence. I saw it, and the Dr. was rudely interrupted or cut short; seamed intentional when Matt was surprised that the Drs. Answers did  tow the liberal anti-gun frenzy and suggested that the Today Show was contributing to the problem.  Maybe the media should have waited until all the victims were buried before they irrationally ramped up the liberal statist ad hominem attack against guns. I wonder If they have play book they pull out when something happens like this or similar tragedy.

There is a time to talk and time to shut up. Never have I seen the media make so many mistakes, blunders and wrong reporting, the wrong pictures from FaceBook regarding the perpetrator and made blundering, uniformed, ignorant non-verified minimally thought out comments like the following:

That the 5.56 Caliber ammunition used was the most prolific ammunition used for hunters. There are about 40 million guns in America (off by 200 million), large capacity magazine cause more murders. Assault rifles are dangerous; are what the military uses and that the genie is out of the bottle and would be tough to put back with the co-host saying that “guns are not bio-degradable”– WTH? Does that sound logical as Obama likes to say?  For God’s sake why do I have to watch the BBC America to get my news, forget about cable.

When Obama cries on TV is he on the side of the angels, is it real? Who knows. I think we all cried inside or outwardly, Did President Bush cry on TV when 911 happened? NO! This is not a sign of a strong leader, but the sign of a weak man. Not in my life have I seen such an emotionally challenged president, I don’t find that a strong quality at all. I doubt Margaret Thatcher would have done the same thing either.

What if a bus filled with 50 children were killed by a drunken school bus driver? Ban Bus drivers? Would you have the same level of crazy outbursts by lunatic liberals? NO! This was a chance for them to JUMP on the anti-gun agenda period; time to sneak in and hit everyone while they are grieving. I find it very interesting that that Liberals would be so cold hearted to immediately bloviate and spew nonsensical crap in the middle of a disaster; some invoking 9/11 for Pete’s sake, really? How dare you? Most Republicans had the decency to stay mute while things were rapidly unfolding and the truth was not known. This is that irrational mind of the liberal.

Sorry Mr. President, as much as you are trying to emulate Hugo Chavez, this ain’t Venezuela. We the people are not easily threatened with finger pointing and obey-me commentaries. I am glad you have the booze addled Gumby like brain of Joe Biden on this, I am sure he will be brilliant in his assessment. It will be the same old crap just sung to a different tune.

The NRA has made a very cogent, logical and rational narrative of how our culture is slipping into the cesspool and needs to have comprehensive real look at what contributes to all violence.

UPDATE: The president went live last Friday and said it received a “petition” -no mention of how many people Doh! and from who.  His answer is “We hear you”. What does that mean anyway? There is only one WE not YOU! He has a one sided plan and thinks he is going to ram this down our throats like Ombamacare. He must think he has absolute power and that one petition gives him some special power to short circuit the constitution–NOT. Here is a clue Mr. President, We the people are sick and tired of your tyrannical type behavior and will stand shoulder to shoulder to stop you from taking any more of our rights away. Below is a letter that I ask all of you to COPY & PASTE and send to your legislators.

Dear Elected Official,

It is my understanding that the President of the United States has decided to take on the issue of Gun Rights for Americans as a result of the recent tragedy in Newtown Connecticut. The President has appointed the Vice President of the United States to lead an administration-wide effort to curb gun violence in America, and has vowed to use “whatever power this office holds” in efforts to prevent “more tragedies like this” referring to the massacre that occurred in Newtown Connecticut.

The Mainstream Media continues to portray that all Americans are asking for gun control as a result of the massacre in Newtown Connecticut. That is not true. A recent Gallup Poll showed Americans feel that an increased police presence at schools, increased government spending on mental health screening and treatment, and decreased depiction of gun violence in entertainment venues would be effective in preventing mass shootings at schools. I encourage you to research this as you draft the way-ahead on curbing gun violence in America.

As my elected official, you will undoubtedly be asked to participate on committee in order to draft a way-ahead to solve the problem of gun violence in America. As my elected officials, you will undoubtedly be asked to vote on potential bill(s) that may affect my gun rights as guaranteed by the Constitution of the United States of America. Specifically, the Second Amendment which reads:

“A well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”

As a law-abiding citizen of the United States of America, it is imperative that you not infringe on my right to keep and bear arms as guaranteed by the United States Constitution written by the Founding Fathers. It is your responsibility as my elected official to dutifully represent the will of The People, correctly interpret The United States Constitution, and diligently reflect on court cases throughout our proud history as you draft the way-ahead to curb gun violence.

There are approximately 65 million gun owners in the United States who enjoy the protection of our Bill of Rights. The Second Amendment protects their right and the right of every citizen to legally own and operate guns. This right has been protected in courts over the course of a hundred plus years.

The Supreme Court recognized that the right to arms is an individual right in U.S. v. Cruikshank (1876), Presser v. Illinois (1886), Miller v. Texas (1894), U.S. v. Miller (1939) and U.S. v. Verdugo-Urquidez (1990). In U.S. v. Cruikshank, the Court also recognized that the right pre-existed the Constitution. Most recently in 2010, the Supreme Court ruled that the Second Amendment, which forbids Congress from infringing the right to keep and bear arms, also applies to state and local governments.

Since our inalienable rights include life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, we cannot exercise those rights if we are not safe. Self-protection and the ability to fight against tyranny are core values our Founding Fathers believed and embedded within The Constitution. They envisioned a citizenry that must protect itself. The Second Amendment guarantees my right to protect myself and my family.

Attempts to institute a Ban on certain types of weapons is nothing short of telling the American People what type of guns they can own as it pertains to the Second Amendment. What will you do next? Tell the American People what kind of religion they can practice as it pertains to the First Amendment?

Those who oppose our Second Amendment would like for us to believe in a government that protects its people. They would like to strip peaceful citizens of their basic right to safety in an attempt to achieve safe neighborhoods. However, a vibrant democracy demands that we protect ourselves, because we are the embodiment of democracy and government is but our tool. Further regulating gun ownership only affects law-abiding citizens, resulting in criminals operating guns.

As a law-abiding citizen of this great land, it must be said that the focus should rest upon education and the enforcement of current laws. Gun safety education has lowered accidental deaths to less than 1% of all accidental deaths. Therefore, those who willingly use guns irresponsibly must be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

As it can be seen, there are choices we must face individually and as a nation. If we decide to give our government too much control, we will be making it an arbiter for determining our fate instead of helping us to determine our own fate. Restricting every citizen’s freedom is a dangerous proposition with grave consequences.

Do we want a larger government that envelopes our lives in the name of safety or do we want a smart government that helps teach us to be responsible and free? Some people believe that we can only be safe when government inhibits our basic freedom, making it harder to protect ourselves. This is a government that evades issues of personal responsibility, holds the actions of criminals against those who are law-abiding, and regulates our lives for us.

Our other choice is that we fashion a smart government that helps teach us to be responsible and free. The millions of Americans who support this view believe that we can only be safe when we are informed of the issues and make decisions for ourselves. These Americans know the danger of fashioning a powerful government and a weak citizenry. Reflect on the war that was fought against England to attain our freedom; remember what risks our Founding Fathers took to obtain a free society and a government that was not intrusive.

I ask you, which government would you rather fashion? Which government helps you to be free?

Reflect on our gun laws and future bills thoughtfully, as the consequences of your decisions will affect the civil rights of every inhabitant within our United States of America. As a constituent, I can make this promise to you…I will donate time and money for campaigns in every upcoming election. I will donate time and money to participate in every grass roots effort to defend the Second Amendment. I will donate time and money to pursue every legal course of action against those who attempt to infringe on my right to keep and bear arms.

  1. AKron says:

Most of us who grew up in parts of the country when guns were ubiquitous and people were, strangely enough, rarely shot in theatres or schools can only note the change in our society with great concern. It is probable that a smaller proportion of the population owns guns today. This is especially in highly-regulated localities, where (strangely enough) most incidents of mass gun-related violence seem occur. We have declared many places off-limits to gun possession. Yet, there appears to be a greater incidence of events such as those at Newtown. I say “appears” because I lack hard numbers and repetitive media coverage affects our perception of the frequency with which events occur (the “milk carton effect”).

The evidence strongly argues that the root cause of the violence is not its means. Regardless of whether one likes Mr Lapierre or the NRA, they have the better part of the argument. We expose mentally unstable, emotionally disturbed, or simply immature people to highly violent or sexualized content and expect no pathological outcomes. We claim absolute individualism with little or no culturally-imposed limits and expect what? As long as these conditions prevail, Mr Lapierre is right – there is a need for someone with a gun to stop any deranged person with a gun or machette or propane cylinder or…

I applaud Wayne L. for keeping his cool under pressure. And for sticking to our guns. Why can’t liberals put the guns where their mouth is. Liberal media destroys more in this country than lives. I pray NRA and America stands strong on our 2nd Amendment rights, criminals and mentally disturbed are the ones that need regulation and penalizing, not law abiding citizens and hunters. I hunt with my AR15, it’s not an automatic weapon, It only shoots when I pull the trigger. Same as most leagal people’s without a Class III license. So far no one has gone crazy with a Class III weapon as far as I know. Soldiers have automatics for people not in the know, not semi automatics. You’d think some of them (liberals) would at least read up on guns before the open their mouths. For gun owners it easy to see which are really gun stupid!!! And for them we just can’t fix stupid!!!!
